This project was based in the village of Aroumd in the High Atlas Mountain’s of Morocco. Water in the village was stored in a tank and water was sourced from the nearby river, mostly consisting of snowmelt. The tank was overflowing, as there was more water available than the tank could hold. This meant in the times when water was in short supply that the water ran out by the afternoon. The villagers were frustrated, as they could see all the water being wasted as it overflowed from the old tank.
£2500 was raised between the Juniper Trust and Noadswood School in order to build a new water tank to hold enough water to provide for the growing number of families in the village. Noadswood School visited the project during their Summer holiday and assisted with the building work. Thank you and congratulations to all the pupils and staff involved.
