This project is based in the village of Aroumd in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Water in the village was stored in a tank. The water is sourced from the nearby river, mostly consisting of snow melt. The tank was overflowing, as there was more water available than the tank could hold. This meant in the times when water was in short supply, the water ran out by the afternoon. The villagers were frustrated, as they could see all the water being wasted as it overflowed from the old tank.
£2564 was raised between the Juniper Trust and Noadswood School in order to build a new water tank in the small mountain village of Aroumd. The new tank will hold enough water to provide for the growing number of families in the village. Noadswood School visited the project during their summer holiday and assisted with the building work. Thank you and congratulations to all the pupils and staff involved.
